Internet Marketing and How MLM Works
I have received many emails asking me about Internet Marketing and how Multi-Level Marketing works. It is kind of a touchy subject with some but the truth is that if you know what you are doing it can be a very good business model to get into. I personally don’t do any MLM but I know many people who are very successful at it. Below I explain to the best of my knowledge how it work, enjoy…
If you are in the process of looking for work from home, chances are great that you have come across the acronym MLM. MLM stands for “Multi-Level Marketing.” This is a structure that some work-from-home businesses take, and understanding how it works is essential if you are going to determine whether or not this is the right business structure for you.
A multi-level marketing business is one wherein you have a product or service that you offer to potential customers. In addition, you are also encouraged to recruit new members to the business. You make money off of both sales of your product or service as well as those new members that you bring into the business.
While the product or service is there, most multi-level marketing businesses focus mainly on adding people to the business. Why is this? Because you make more money on those people that you bring into the business than you would on sales alone.
Here is how it works. When you come into the business, the person who recruited you is called your “up line.” Your up line gets a percentage of every sale that you make, whether a business or a product sale. This percentage could be large or small, but the more sales you make, the more money your up line makes. In return for this, your up line is supposed to train you and provide support for your new business.
When you recruit someone new to be in the business, you become that individual’s up line. They are referred to as your “down line.” Every sale that that individual makes brings a percentage your way in return for training and support. So, you have the potential to make earnings each and every month off of the person that you recruited into the business, just as your up line does from you. A sale of a product or service only provides a one-time income boost. For this reason, bringing new people into the business provides the most profit.
If you are considering joining an MLM, keep in mind that the constant marketing is difficult. Make sure you choose a company that you really believe in and can promote without qualm. Also, choose a company with a product or service that has a competitive price and true value. There needs to be a demand in the market for your product or service if you are going to succeed in this type of business. Finally, keep in mind that it takes time to grow a successful business, especially if you are working with an MLM. Devote the time and energy to a business that you believe in, and you could soon have a successful work-from-home business.
